ESTATE HANDCRAFTED TAXCO FRED DAVIS AMETHYST BRACELET

This sterling silver bracelet comes from the Vintage Fred Davis Jewelry Collection, a paragon of Taxco's mid-century modernist aesthetic. Fred Davis' vision materializes in the bracelet's standout feature, a large, cushion-shaped cabochon-cut amethyst, which is the centerpiece of this meticulously handcrafted piece. The construction of the bracelet ingeniously draws the eye to the magnificent gemstone without overshadowing the bracelet's overall design. Highlighted in Mexican Silver by Penny Morrill and Carole Berk, this bracelet was conceived in 1930 and, judging by its hallmarks, was crafted before 1948, establishing it as an early and significant example of Davis' innovative design work.
